Proceeds from the event will go toward recruiting doctors and healthcare professionals for our hospital.
June 2 will be a very special evening for a very special cause, as our community comes together to celebrate our hospital and its future.
And you can be there to show your support, as tickets are now on sale for The (Heart) Beat Goes on, the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation’s first-ever fundraising gala. This formal affair, at the Pyramid Recreation Centre – complete with catered dinner, live and silent auctions and live music courtesy of Labyrinth – is being held in conjunction with the St. Marys Kinsmen and Kinettes.
“Our hospital is one of the most important parts of our community,” says Doug Holliday, the hospital foundation’s fundraising chair. “All of the proceeds of the gala will be used to help attract physicians and other healthcare professionals to St. Marys to continue keeping our citizens healthy and our emergency room staffed.”
Holliday adds that “the gala is a way to celebrate our hospital – now over six decades old – and help ensure its future.”
Aside from a delectable multi-course meal served by Linda Arthur of Village Catering, there will surely be some lively bidding wars for the exclusive items up for auction in the evening, including original artwork from local artists, desserts for a year courtesy of Mollet’s Designer Desserts, a private tour for 10 of Steam Whistle Brewing in Toronto (via limousine), and a package for a weekend in Montreal that includes box seats to a Canadiens NHL game. The gala planning team is busy gathering more “must-have” auction items; look for a full list – and how to place your advance bids – later this month.
Only 250 tickets are available, at a cost of $75 each, or $600 for a table of eight. They can be reserved at the St. Marys Insurance Group office at 47 Water Street South, Sam’s Home Hardware or by calling the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation at 519-284-1332, ext. 3306.
